I. Cutting Edge Technology
BIM- Building Information Modeling is an innovative new approach to building design which is fast replacing CAD- Computer Assisted Drafting. 2 Dimensional drafting is replaced by a 3 dimensional model in which each building element has its own set of information. All of the building elements are linked within the model and all 2 dimensional drawings are produced from it. At Verret Group BIM is used exclusively from initial schematic design all the way through construction documents. The transitions between drawing phases are seamless since all phases are produced from the same 3D model.

II. Shorter Production Time
The advantages that BIM confers include increased speed of delivery (time saved). In traditional 2D drafting, whether it be by hand or using CAD, drawings are often duplicated in the transitions between schematic design, design development, and construction documents. Through the usue of BIM we build upon previous phases by using the same 3D computer model to produce them. The model contains all of the information in a project and becomes progressively more detailed as the drawings develop. Drawing redundancy, and its associated lost time, is virtually eliminated.

III. Improved Drawing Coordination
Better coordination equals fewer errors in the drawings and thus fewer issues on the construction site. Since all building elements in the BIM model are linked, an element which is changed in say, a Floor Plan, is automatically changed in every drawing in the set including elevations, details, sections, and schedules. The potential for human error is substantially reduced; BIM simply will not allow it. Dimensions cannot be incorrect since they automatically reference off of the real world model. Drawing annotations such as door nmbers or elevation references are all automatic so much of the traditional coordination process is already built into the software.
IV. Higher Drawing Volume
BIM provides us the advantage of automatic drafting. For example, an exterior building elevation is produced simply by telling the software to create that 2D view of the 3D model. The elevationd rawing is created instantly rather than manually dragted. Since it takes les time more drawings can be produced, dramatically improving communication to both our clients and the general contractor. This applies across the board for all drawing types including Plans, Interior Elevations, Ceiling Plans,

Exterior Elevations, Details, Building Sections, Wall Sections, and Schedules. We also have the ability to produce 3 dimensional details simply and efficiently. We find that including 3D views of the building and its details greatly assists workers in the field in understanding the project and thus minimizing construction errors.
Higher Quality Presentations
The design process is all about effective communication. At Verret Group we communicate our designs in multiple full color 3 dimensional images at the very first presentation in the schematic design phase. Traditional 2 dimensional plans and elevations are replaced with true persective presentation drawings and the animations which allow our clients the advantage of accurately seeing their building before a spade of ground is turned. In fact, this level of presentation is achieved so early in the process that capital campaigns, financing meetings, and congregational presentations can all occur with minimal financial commitment from the Church for design fees.
